Install Turbo C++ on Windows 7 64bit

  • Install the software DOSBox ver 0.73 or 0.74 : download here
  • Create a folder, for example Turbo in C drive. (c:\Turbo\)
  • Download and extract TC into the Turbo Folder (c:\Turbo\) : download here
  • It should look exactly as shown in the picture:
  • Now go in start menu, And see/open the following:

  • On clicking DOSBox 0.74 Options, A notepad file will open, Just add the lines highlighted in the pic and save the notepad file as it is.

  • After Saving close the notepad file. Open DOSBox 0.74. And it will automatically open Turbo C++. Now you have to fix some stuff before you begin to program..
  • Note: Click the images to enlarge:

  • Do as shown in the previous pics, Just fix the path in directories, In case it is C:\include and C:\lib. Make it D:\include and D:\lib. I hope you get it. Now dont forget to save. Click Options > Save. Or else you will have to do these steps again later, or it will display an error during output Since library files will not have correct path. Lets not go into detail but just do this fixes and you are good to go.
Now you can use C++ in windows 7 - 64bit system. To go into full screen press alt+enter. Incase fullscreen hangsup your Turbo C++ just use it in windowed mode. Or if you really need bigger window, just change your windows resolution or disable your graphic card for a while. That will help. Note: Control+F9 runs a program in Turbo C++, However Control+F9 actually is a hotkey to QUIT DOSBox, So when you press CTRL+F9 it exits DOSBox as well as Turbo C++. To change DOSBox Hotkeys press CTRL+F1.
Happy Programming..
